Result of NABF featherweight title match in Mexicali, BC, Mexico last night (31 January). Ricardo "Piolo" Castillo, fighting in his hometown, is the new NABF featherweight champ as the result of a 10r Technical Knockout over Abraham "Marvin" Rodriguez. Reports are that there was good action in the first few rounds but that after 3 Castillo - brother of former world champion Jose Luis Castillo - came on agressively and the fight was stopped when referee Jerry Venzor would not let Rodriguez answer the bell for the 10th round. Castillo had dominated from rounds 4 on and Rodriguez, from Mexico City, was cut on his right eyelid, courtesy of a left hook by Castillo.
