Our boxer of the month is Vanes Martirosyan who made the second successful defense of our super welterweight championship on June 5^th pounding out a 10r unanimous decision over highly regarded Joe Greene.  This was a televised undercard bout over HBO on the Cotto/Foreman card from Yankee Stadium.

A native of Armenia, Vanes is a long time resident of the Los Angeles suburb of Glendale, California and trains at the famed Wild Card Gym under the supervision of Freddie Roach.  He represented the USA in the 2004 Olympics and now has a record of 28-0 with 17 wins by stoppage.  Vanes was also recognized by the NABF as our “Prospect of the Year” at our recent convention in New Orleans.
