Transportation: the following options are offered to you for transportation to and from the Royal Sonesta Hotel. The trip is 13.5 miles and normally takes thirty minutes in a personal automobile. Private Transportation and Limousines Cost: $85.00 and 20% gratuity for a Town Car. An SUV from $85.00 and 20%. Limousines are available for approx. $100.00 and up. Time: No waiting! Your personnel driver is waiting for you as the plane lands. He escorts you directly from the baggage claim to your awaiting vehicle of choice. Arrangements: The concierges’ staff can make arrangements with your flight information and cell phone number. Just email the information back and we will have a confirmation for you. Or feel free to call directly at (504) 553-2229. Helpful Hints: This is great for groups of 4 to 10 persons and not much more expensive than a taxicab. For the highest professional service, let the concierges know what kind of occasion you are planning and we can suggest options to create a wonderful memory. Taxi Cabs Cost: $33.00 for one or two and $14.00 each additional person. Time: Thirty minutes from the baggage claim area to the Royal Sonesta Arrangements: No arrangements are needed; the cabs are on stand-by 24 hours a day outside the luggage area. Helpful hints: Have the cab driver write his cab number on your receipt, just in case something is left in the taxi. If you have special needs an agent working the taxicab line can request a particular type of taxi. Taxicabs are generally an efficient way to get to the hotel. The Airport Shuttle Cost: $20.00 for each person, $40.00 for two, $60.00 for three Time: Ten to thirty minutes to get a ticket outside the luggage area, and then proceed to the shuttle line for loading in the van. The trip can take forty-five minutes or upwards of 1 hour to get to the hotel. Arrangements: The shuttle is a first come first serve operation, with a kiosk outside each baggage terminal for the purchase of tickets. The staff will offer a two-way ticket, which limits your time on the return trip. ( 2 ½ to 3 hours before flight time) Helpful hints: If you are a single traveler with time to spare this is the way to go; however for the businessperson or special occasion traveler you might not enjoy the wait time.
