All Systems “GO” for the upcoming NABF Convention. Be advised that the Hotel rates go up on May 18th, Make your reservations NOW.
I’m happy to report that although we have a downturn in the economy, we have had a total of thirty eight (38) title bouts since the last Convention. A record number of NABF Title bouts in a one year period. Elsewhere in this Newsletter you will find additional info on the Convention. If you have never been to New Orleans, you are in for a great time. We look forward to seeing and spending time with you. Two big fights coming up in New York City, May 15th, at Madison Square Garden, undefeated Daniel Jacobs meets tough Mexican, Juan Astorga for the Vacant Middleweight Title. On June 5th, at Yankee Stadium, Vanes Martirosyan defends his SuperWelterweight Title against “Mean” Joe Greene. Congratulations are in order on the recent appointments of Sammy Macias as the new Chairman of the Continental Americas Federation and Chuck Williams as Chair of the USNBC Titles. We wish them well and look forward to working with them. There is still time to place a Journal Ad in the Convention booklet, and this year we are including a Directory of all NABF members. Until we meet in the “Big Easy”, All the best, Joe Dwyer
