 I looked forward to leaving the cold of Long Island only to find the weather in Florida to be low as sixteen (16) degrees on some nights. Well, so be it!!! Super Welterweight Champion, Vanes Martirosyan jumped right back, taking on former World Champion, Kassim Ouma, thirty four (34) days after winning our title defeating him by Unanimous Decision. On January 29th, at the Mohegan Sun Casino, In Uncasville, Connecticut, Featherweight Champion, Matt Remillard defeated Rafael Lora by TKO 3 in a rematch of their prior title fight. On the same card, Peter Manfredo Jr defeated Matt Vanda by UD to claim the Vacant Middleweight Title. Both bouts were Promoted by Chet Koerner's TKO Boxing. We are presently finalizing a Light Heavyweight TItle to be held on March 6th, again in Mohegan Sun Arena, as well as a Heavywieght Title fight on March 20th, in Dusseldorf, Germany as the co-feature on the Klitchko/Chamber's card. The NABF Convention is moving along well and it behooves all planning to attend to make their hotel and air reservations now. Great seeing NICK CHARLES back on the tube with SHOBOX this past weekend. We are starting to put our Convention Journal into high gear at this time and will be making Journal Ads available through the Website. Our good friend and supporter, Roy Van Putten had a recent hospital stay and is now well onthe way to recovery!!! A well deserved THANK YOU to Executive Secretary, CHRIS STILSON, for the great job she does for our organization on a daily basis. Ditto to STEVE WOLOCHOW, for a great newsletter. Jill Diamond, (Girl Friday) is unrelenting in her pursuit of increased activity in our Female Division. The Past Saturday (2/6), Brandon (Bam Bam) Rios defeated Jorge Teron by TKO 3 to win the Vacant Lightweight title in McAllen , Texas.
