Hello Members,
I want to thank each and every one of you who took part in our fabulous 40th annual convention in Tucson, Arizona. The hotel was beyond belief and all the attendees had an extremely good time. The meetings were well attended, with excellent speakers. The closing banquet on Saturday evening was cowboy-style, with BBQ and T-bone steak, complete with a strolling cowboy singer. The awards were presented following dinner.
The Executive Committee has unanimously decided to return to Cancun for our convention next year, and we are considering the dates of June 4-7, 2009 at the Rui Hotel, which is where we had the convention in 2007.
Once again, thank you for all of your support.

SOUTH COAST PROMOTIONS, LLC has agreed to host a series of four professional fight shows at the Reliant Arena in Houston, Texas. The first show, a FIGHT NIGHT TRIPLE HEADER, is July 18, 2008 featuring women’s boxing icon Christy “The Coal Miner’s Daughter” Martin in a NABF Championship fight. Recognized as the First Lady of Boxing, Martin touts a record of 47 wins (31 by knockout), 5 losses and 2 draws. A sure inductee into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Martin goal is to accumulate 50 wins before calling it a career. Standing in her way is a formidable opponent, Houston area favorite Valerie “The Wolfe” Mahfood. Mahfood has made her fame fighting the world’s toughest female fighters. With a record of 19 wins (9 by knockout), 14 losses and 3 draws the colorful Beaumont native, who often enters the ring with a purple Mohawk, has fought the best, including Laila Ali and Ann Wolfe.
